WE ALL WANT CLEAR AIR BUT PROP K WON'T WORK

The EPA just announced El Paso would meet clean air standards if there were a multinational approach. El Paso can’t do it alone and Prop K will not work.

El Pasoans are already doing their part–enacting a $5 million climate action plan that will define our success and provide realistic climate improvements.

Prop K is a radical proposal funded by an Austin interest group that interrupts the progress El Paso voters passed just months ago.

WHY PROP K WON'T WORK

An independent study found that Prop K will:

  • Cost every El Paso household $38,800

  • Require the city to drastically increase taxes to cover basic city services

  • Result in less money for Fire and Police protection, increasing crime and lengthening response times

  • Kill thousands of jobs

PROP K WILL DESTROY OUR ECONOMY

Prop K was created by non-local activists with no idea what damage it would cause. An independent study found that if passed, Prop K would cost the area $32.8 billion. That is the equivalent of bulldozing 300,000 homes. The study also found that the local economy would shrink by 40%.
